Above- Tae executes a Crescent kick against the Texas champion.
BURLINGTON EVENT SATURDAY. All team members are strongly urged to attend. The Iowa Games is in Ames the next week. Thanks to Master Phelps who traveled to Orlando to coach Britteny, Bella, Talon, and Tae at the Junior Olympics. There were more than 5,500 athletes; and the USA Junior and Senior teams were selected. Britteny gained valuable experience, as she gave up 2 points in the last 13 seconds to lose a 2-2 tie on the referee’s decision. Clock and ring management is an important factor in this sport! Bella lost 4-2 to Ohio, exchanging solid head shots. Talon lost 6-5 to a medalist who ran away, and Talon couldn’t catch him in the last 20 seconds! Tae won 2 medals! He tied for Gold in form, and in a “playoff” took the silver. In sparring, he beat Minnesota, Texas, and Montana. In the 4th round he tied the Virginia 2-2, but lost in a very close referee’s decision. Congratulations to everyone. On the right track!!
