1ST IOWA GOVERNOR’S CUP IN AMES!!___

With only 10 club members competing against 40 teams, the Phelps TKD team shared 3rd place at the Governor’s Cup. Brittney was put in the boys division. She beat them in sparring for her second gold! Brit has won double gold in every event she has entered!!! That gave us 6 team points. Tae managed 7 pts, by winning form; a bronze in sparring (losing 6-5 to Jordan Dorian in a great match); and gold in family form with Bella. She took silver in form; gold in family; and silver in sparring after defeating a 3rd degree Dan 11-10. The “Count” Malic easily won sparring; and bronze in form. Phillip only had one match, but helped with silver in sparring. Doug Tramel won bronze in the larger older division (but very tough). John Dieu was disqualified (and a little injured) after forgetting to wear a very important piece of equipment. He still received a bronze medal. Others participating but not medaling were: Talon Berger; Larry Thielen; and Kyle Rusk.
